專家說明

A study for the figure of a triton in the monumental The Gifts of the Sea in the Residenzgalerie Salzburg (inv. 1746; R.-A. d'Hulst, Jacob Jordaens, London, 1982, p. 181, fig. 167) painted by Jordaens, with the fish by another hand, possibly Jacob van Es (1596-1666) or Adriaen van Utrecht (1599-1652) (R.-A. d'Hulst, op. cit., p. 181). D'Hulst noted that the lively gestures and somewhat artificial attitudes of the figures in the painting, which are also notable in the present drawing, are typical of Jordaens's style in the 1640s.
