The present miniature derives from a large-scale full-length portrait of William IV by Andrew Morton, a version of which is now in the National Maritime Museum, London. Another version is in the British Royal Collection (see V. Remington, Victorian Miniatures in the Collection of Her Majesty the Queen, London, 2010, p. 80).
