拍品 38 PROPERTY FROM THE FAMILY OF MORRIS AND DORIS FISH
Morris (1909-1978) and Doris Fish (1908-1992) were close friends of Pavel Tchelitchew. As an attorney, Morris Fish advised the artist on legal matters including his final will and testament. Before she met her husband, Doris Levine had worked as Lincoln Kirstein's (1907-1996) secretary and then later as business manager of his Harvard-based magazine Hound and Horn. In 1934, after Kirstein closed the magazine, Doris married Morris, and she continued to work as business manager at the New York City Ballet co-founded by Kirstein that same year. Over the years, the couple worked with and befriended numerous artists, composers and writers.
