According to van Regteren Altena, the gabled houses in the first drawing were drawn in Antwerp, and the little tower in the upper part of the second drawing represents the Batsen-toren which stood in the submerged land near Tholen in Zeeland. A drawing of that tower by Claes Jansz. Visscher (1586-1652) in the Rijksmuseum (inv. RP-T-1888-A-1808) shows it had two windows and not one as drawn here. More recently it has been suggested that the tower shown here could be the Plompe Toren in Koudekerke, also in Zeeland.
