With Panerai International Guarantee Certificate dated 19 May 2010, Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres Watch Rate Certificate, Certificate of Calibration of the Federal Office of Metrology METAS, Guarantee Booklet and spare rubber strap with steel buckle. The present watch is no. 242 of the limited edition of 500 examples of this model launched in 2008.
In May 2008 South African explorer Mike Horn began a four year voyage of exploration aboard his environmentally sustainable boat Pangea. The expedition brought awareness to the state of our planet and environmental efforts to protect it. His port of calls included locations on all seven continents. In partnership with Officine Panerai the expedition produced a limited edition of Depth Gauge watches of 500 examples. The watch has a unique 120 meter depth gauge that is lithium battery powered while the watch is an automatic caliber OPXV mechanism. The case back is engraved with the seven continents of the world along with Mike Horn's signature.
The depth gauge mechanism is activated by the push button in the band at the 10 o'clock. The mechanism records both the current and maximum depth. Additionally the diver can read the maximum depth of his previous dive.
