專家說明

The arms are for Fane with Child in pretence for John, 10th Earl of Westmoreland (1759-1841) and Sarah, only daughter and heir of Robert Child, of Osterley Park, Middlesex, whom he married in 1782. He was a lifelong friend of William Pitt from their days at Cambridge and he later was Lord Lieutenant of Ireland (1789-1795), Master of the Horse (1795-1798) and Lord Privy Seal. The marriage was a result of elopement to Gretna Green much against the will of the bride's father who gave chase and sought to physically prevent the union.
