專家說明

Engbert Grasdorp was the founder of the Grasdorp artist family from Zwolle, whose style shows the influence of the Ter Borch family, also from Zwolle. Engbert's son Gerrit (1659-1716) is best known for his watercolours of ice scenes and local topography such as those in the printroom of the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, and the Stedelijk Museum, Zwolle. Engbert's drawing of Winter in the Rijksmuseum is illustrated (p. 350) in J. Verbeek, 'Tekeningen van de familie Grasdorp', Miscellanea I.Q. van Regteren Altena, Amsterdam, 1969, pp. 160-1, fig.1. The Grasdorp family was further discussed by E.A. van Dijk, 'Grasdorp, een Zwolse kunstenaarsfamilie', Overijsselse Historische Bijdragen, CIV, Zwolle, 1989, pp. 35-50.
