專家說明

No doubt inspired by works by his master Adriaen van Ostade (1610-1685), Dusart frequently represented pig killings, including in the scene he used for November in his engraved series of the Twelve months (Hollstein 30).

We are grateful to Susan Anderson who has confirmed the attribution of the present drawings, on the basis of digital images, and suggested a date of execution of circa 1690-95.
