FIRST KERVER LATIN AND GREEK EDITION, AN ATTRACTIVE COPY. This edition follows Chrestien’s Wechel’s quarto printing of the first Mercier edition in 1548. The Latin text differs from earlier versions and is probably Jean Mercier’s own translation. The woodcuts have been attributed to Jean Cousin or Jean Goujon. The woodcut on F8r is printed upside down. Adams H-850; Landwehr Romanic 387; Mortimer French 315; Praz pp. 373-4.
