This watch represents an opportunity to see the experimentalism Rolex is famous for in action. The animalier dial with zebra stripes pattern is visually stunning and technically highly complex. Interestingly, it was manufactured around the same time the Daytona Leopard was in production, denoting a specific direction the designers at Rolex were working toward. The black stripes are lacquered, while the white ones are realized with brilliant-cut diamonds. The bezel is not only set with tapered baguette-cut diamonds, but the visual impact is maximized by a second layer of minute square-cut diamonds set into the side of the bezel. Thanks to this feature, the sparkle of diamonds is noticeable even when looking at the watch sideways.
Furthermore, the piece is offered in close to mint condition, and it was most certainly hardly ever, if ever, worn. The bracelet presents absolutely no stretch to the links, dial and bezel are simply flawless, and the case shows virtually no marks.
