HELMUT NEWTON (1920-2004)
拍品 321 'One day in the year 1980 I found in a German newspaper a reportage showing the offices of the special German police anti-terrorist unit called "Die Fahdungstelle G5-G9." They were entrusted with the hunting down of the Baader-Meinhof Gang. I cut these pictures out of the newspaper and kept them by my side for a long time. After a long time I decided to create a series of female nudes in the spirit of a passport photo, shot against a white background, lit very simply by one strobe light from the side with a prominent shadow on the seamless paper.
For a long time I referred to this body of work as "The Terrorists". Much later they became "The Big Nudes."'
