THE LAMOIGNON COPY IN CONTEMPORARY RED MOROCCO. Chrétien-François de Lamoignon was Keeper of Seals during the period leading up to the French Revolution. His exceptional library was bought by Thomas Payne, who issued a catalogue of its contents in 1793. Cohen-de Ricci 165-166; Sander 194.
