專家說明
The Dublin firm of Butler, recorded at various addresses in Upper Abbey Street between 1886 and 1912, specialised in restoring and retailing Georgian furniture, as well as producing furniture inspired by the 18th century. One of Butler's most prestigious commissions was to furnish the Viceregal Lodge in 1903, in preparation for a state visit. Other patrons included the Earl of Abercorn, the Earl and Countess of Coventry, the Countess of Clonmell and the Duke and Duchess of Connaught, who purchased furniture for Clarence House.
