The circular laurel carved case above a glazed pedestal with Corinthian columns to the angles, the 15 inch silvered dial with sight ring,
subsidiary dials for seconds and date, blued steel hands, the substantial movement with thick rectangular plates, five screwed pillars, dead beat escapement, jewelled pallets, Harrisons maintaining power, wheelwork with six crossings, adjustable end plates to all
pivots, wide adjustable crutch with fine beat adjustment, winding to side, back plate signed 'James Gowland, 52 London Wall, London' secured to stout seat board with four substantial brackets and bolts, pulleys mounted on internal backboard, above movement allowing weight to travel out of sight between backboards, glass jar mercury pendulum bob (mercury removed) with calibrated silvered top and brass and later glass tube pendulum rod and fine coiled spring to connect wide crutch, pendulum suspended from a substantial suspension cock secured to the internal back board
