THREE CARVED AND PAINTED WOOD HERALDIC CRESTS FROM ST GEORGE'S CHAPEL, WINDSOR

The crests were made on investiture and removed on the death of the knight. The Coronet: Probably for King Alfonso XIII of Spain (1886-1941) who was invested to the Order of the Garter by King Edward VII in 1902.
The Greyhound: was displayed above the stall of William Palmer, 2nd Earl of Selbourne (1859-1942) who was invested to the Order of the Garter by King Edward VII in 1909
The Stag and coronet: was displayed above the stall of George Robinson, Marquis of Ripon (1827-1909) who was invested to the Order of the Garter by Queen Victoria in 1869.
