拍品 18 Alexander Calder (1898-1976)
Born in Lawnton, Pennsylvania, in 1898, Calder is best known for his kinetic sculptural work, in particular his mobiles. The influence of these playful moving shapes can be seen in the composition for both Presenza Graphica and Senza Titolo. The flowing lines and bold, primary colours reflect the humour and simplicity of his three-dimensional works, but are transformed through the new medium presented by Valter Rossi. Having met initially in Paris, once again the basic elements of printmaking were brought directly to the artist’s home in Saché.
