專家說明

Goto Ichijo (1791-1876) was the second son of Goto Jujo (1695-1742). He became the 6th hereditary master of the Hachirobei line of the Goto family in 1805. He was an excellent artist and is credited with restoring the reputation of the family which had become somewhat unfashionable. In 1851 he was called to Edo by the Shogunal government, but returned to Kyoto in 1862 in order to execute a commission for the Emperor Komei. During his career he received the titles of both Hokkyo and Hogen. 'Hakuo' was the name he used when signing iron fittings, 'Ichijo' was reserved for work in shakudo and other metals such as above in copper.
