A Rare Pair of Imari Dishes for the Chinese Market
Edo period (mid-17th century)
Each with petal-lobed rim, decorated in the Chinese famille verte style in underglaze blue, red, green, yellow enamels and gilt with a central roundel of peonies, the rim with further peonies, chrysanthemums, plum blossoms and camellia, the reverse with plum blossoms floating on water, each with eight spur marks
Each 29.2cm. diam.
