The present reference "fifty-fifty" is an incredibly appealing example distinguished by its highly unusual dial. For many collectors, this is the first time such an example is seen as this exclusif example is believed to have been manufactured for a selected few of Patek Philippe's most loyal collectors. Visually, the "unique" dial set on this watch is a look hard to beat.

One spontaneously wonders if this dial was not mounted at a later stage upon the request of its owner. This theory does not apply in this instance as the Certificate of Origin states that this reference 5050 left Patek Philippe's workshops with this ultra rare "ardoise soleil" dial blessed with the attractive Breguet numerals.

Discontinued in 2002, the present watch was manufactured after the reference was originally discontinued in an extremely limited number for a selected handful and very important collectors.
