Born New York, 1949. Studied at New York University, 1971 and California Institute of Arts, Valencia, 1973. Solo exhibitions include: San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, California, 1988; Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, 1995; has shown frequently at Mary Boone Gallery, New York. Group exhibitions include: The Image of Abstraction, The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, 1988; On Canvas: Contemporary Painting, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, 2000; Picturing America. Selections from the Whitney Museum of American Art, Nagasaki, Japan, 2005. He lives in New York.
