A group of Georgian ethnographic scenes, Tbilisi, ca. 1890s. 17 albumen prints on 14 mounts, some with captions in Cyrillic in the negative, c. 170-245 x 165-320mm on card mounts 330 x 435mm, with manuscript captions in German in the mount. (Prints with occasional light fading, the mounts with some light wear and light soiling near the edges, one mount with a long tear not affecting the print.) Provenance: Walter Stechow (1852-1927, pioneering radiologist, army doctor, and physician to Kaiser Wilhelm II; by repute).
