An apparently identical design for a garden-urn is illustrated in Doulton & Company's 1893 catalogue, Terra Cotta Garden Vases, Pedestals, Flower Pots and Every Other Description of Horticultural Terra Cotta, p. 34., fig. 60.
A further comparable example on a pedestal is illustrated in John Davis, Antique Garden Ornament, Suffolk, 1991, p. 217 pl. 4:52.
