專家說明

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present pink gold watch in 1951 and its subsequent sale on 13 December 1951. Further delivered with Patek Philippe servicing tag.

Also known as a "Ram's Head" or "Ricciolino", the present watch is a fine example of one of Patek Philippe's rarest rectangular models. Highly recognizable with its three scroll lugs, reference 2471 was in production in the early 1950s and made in yellow or pink gold. Some examples of the reference have a polychrome enamel dial, showing a portrait or depicting sports. Presently only 5 pink gold examples of this reference are known to have appeared in public, including the present one.

At first glance, it may appear that the square indices on the dial have moved slightly in their positions and are not correctly aligned. However, upon close up inspection, the trained eye will perceive the special trapezoidal pattern on the square indices and their correct positioning. Only found on this reference, these special square indices were applied correctly, the front point guiding the eye towards the centre of the dial.

Reference 2471 is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber and Alan Banbery, 2nd edition, p. 132.
