Claudio Salocchi is a renowned architect, industrial and interior designer who runs the Studio Salocchi - an international firm producing design products and creating interiors and buildings across Italy and abroad.
The present revolving bookcase is one of his most famous furniture creations. Designed in 1959 it was first produced by the firm of Sormani in 1960. The present bookcase is one such 'first edition'.
The 'Libreria' comprises a quartered square base with central steel support and was produced in one and two tier versions. The formation of each level includes two small and two large cabinets or shelving units giving an overall asymetry whilst also achieving balance.
