專家說明

Maria Schlechuber (c.1594-1674) would have been aged twenty in 1614, and this portrait was possibly commissioned to commemorate her betrothal as the coat of arms depicted to the upper corner are those of her husband Andreas Ligsalz zu Ascholding's family. There is much iconography incorporated into the work to corroborate this suggestion such as the pink carnation and wreath of rosemary she carries. What is undenyably apparent is the high status of the sitter; it is probable that Maria would have attended the Bavarian Court at Munich as her Husband was Mayor of the city and this costume is commensurate with that.
