One decorated in inlaid mother-of-pearl and coral with a hare gazing up at a crescent moon and ferns on a cork ground; another decorated in carved lacquer with shaped reserves of Chinese immortals on a veranda bordered by banana palms in black and gold rubbed lacquer, the figures in inlaid horn, all against a textured roiro ground simulating cloth, edged in stylized gold foliate scroll, with a wood netsuke of a sleeping man with tea grinder, bead ojime; and another decorated in varicolored gold and colored lacquer hiramaki-e and takamaki-e with scenes of monkeys dressed in clothing and engaged in dancing, sumo and various festive activities
