專家說明

In 1938 Linke furnished four commodes of this model, titled 'commode singe et écureuil' in the régistre. The whimsical marquetry design, shown here, executed with a myriad of exotic wood veneers, was faithfully reproduced in each instance by the marqueteur Imauville, at a cost of 2,000 francs (C. Payne, François Linke: The Belle Epoque of French Furniture, Woodbridge, 2003 p. 382). Another example of this model sold Christie's, New York, 14-15 April 2011, lot 88 ($30,000).
