Early 20th century, signed Yoshitoyo saku and with kao (cursive monogram)
Flat and rectangular on a hinge and attached to a link chain, decorated in gold and silver hirazogan with the Thousand Cranes, opening to the interior arranged with two hinged compartments and a frame, originally to hold an ivory writing tablet opening to a further compartment for calling cards, the top fitted with a cylindrical tube to hold a pencil, the inner borders designed with vine patterns; signature on cover of one compartment
