專家說明

This chandelier can be dated to circa 1790-95 as it relates to the style 'ékatérinien', named after Catherine II, which combined gilt-bronze and cut-crystal or coloured glass elements and flourished in the later years of Catherine's reign (1790-1795). Related examples are illustrated in I. Sychev, The Russian chandeliers 1760-1830, 2003, p.36, see particularly no.128 which Sychev dates to circa 1790.
