專家說明

This pair of patinated and gilt bronze ewers is related to a renowned model by the bronzier, Claude Galle (d. 1815) (Marie-France Dupuy-Baylet, Les bronzes du mobilier national 1800-1870 - L'heure, le feu, la lumiére, Paris, 2010, p. 248). Galle was almost certainly inspired by the designs, derived from Roman antiquity, of Charles Percier and Pierre Fontaine who published their work in the Recueil de decorations interieures (1801).
