LOUIS VUITTON, EARLY 20TH CENTURY
Leather and brass bound, with combination lock and leather handle, the interior base lined in red leather, the lid lined in red moire silk
8 x 26 x 15 in. (20 x 66.5 x 39 cm.)
The studs stamped 'LOUIS VUITTON', the interior stamped in gilt 'LOUIS VUITTON, PARIS 70 CHAMPS-ÉLYSÉES, 149 NEW BOND ST. LONDON, NICE, CANNES, VICHY', and numbered '7?8115'
The combination should be set to neutral by turning dials anti-clockwise until they stop, the combination is then 3 clicks (top left-hand dial), 7 clicks (bottom dial), 3 clicks (top right-hand dial), the combination can be changed but the back of the lock needs to come off to do so
