With Omega Extract of the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1938 and its delivery to the United Kingdom.
Introduced to the market in 1938, year of production of this watch, reference CK 2039 was the largest wristwatch model ever made by Omega, its impressive diameter of 44 mm. (the gold model 44.8 mm.) only surpassed in 2004 with the introduction of the Railmaster XXL (49.2 mm.). The model was equipped with the pocketwatch calibre 35.5 S T1 which was also used in early military or aviator's wristwatches.
Preserved in very appealing, unmolested original condition, the present reference CK 2039 is one of the exceedingly rare specimen of this "giant" wristwatch to appear in public to date.
Reference CK 2039 is illustrated and described in Omega - A Journey through Time by Marco Richon, p. 132, pl. 1050.
