With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with diamond indexes in 1954 and its subsequent sale on 26 May 1955.

Sold by Patek Philippe's prestigious Cuban retailer Cuervo y Sobrinos, this elegant timepiece is believed to be the only example of a reference 2461 in platinum and with diamond indexes to appear in public to date.

Production of reference 2461 was launched in 1950 and is the wider version of reference 425.

Cuervo y Sobrinos
In 1882, Armando Rio y Cuervo and his brothers ran a watchmaking workshop founded by their uncle Ramon in Havana, Cuba, hence the name "y Sobrinos": "and Nephews", retailing watches of the world's most prestigious watchmakers. In the 1940s, when Havana became the meeting point for intellectuals and artists from all over the world, Cuervo y Sobrinos produced their own watches while continuing to sell watches of other famous manufacturers. Einstein, Caruso, Churchill, Hemingway, Gable and Neruda were amongst the renowned firm's faithful clients.
