This painting was acquired directly from Qi Baishi in 1955 by the famous American architect Edgar Tafel (1912-2011) when he visited China. Mr. Tafel owned the painting for thirty years before gifting it to Dan and Mary Goldstein in 1984 after they commissioned him to design a showroom. The present owner obtained the painting from the Goldstein Estate.
