專家說明

Sir William Sterndale Bennett (1816-75) was a composer of the Romantic school, admired by Mendelssohn and Schumann. He formed the Bach Society in 1849 in London which went on to produce and conduct the first English performance of Bach's St Matthew Passion in 1854.
