Ces photographies gouachée par Fernand Léger proviennent de la collection de Roland Brice, proche collaborateur de l'artiste pour lequel il réalise des céramiques à partir de 1949 à Biot.
Fernand Léger, pour qui, "la couleur est un élément vital, comme l'eau et le feu" a rehaussé ces photographies prises par Roland Brice afin de donner une indication précise de l'intensité colorée recherchée.

The following photographs come from the Brice collection, who collaborated with the artist on his work in ceramic as early as 1949.
Fernand Léger, for whom, "color is a vital element, like water and fire" painted these photos taken by Brice as an indication of how he should elaborate this particular work in ceramic (F. Leger quoted in "F. Leger, de l'art abstrait", Fonctions de la peinture, Paris, 1965, p.145).
