專家說明

These bookcases, which are of a recognisably English form using George IV inspired decorative elements, convey a flamboyance that can be identified with types of furniture made in Bombay in British India towards the middle of the 19th century. Related furniture, loosely based on English designs is illustrated in A. Jaffer, Furniture from British India and Ceylon, London, 2001, pp. 334-339.
