The present watch is one of the exceedingly rare clock watches made by Parkinson & Frodsham.
The case was supplied by Fred Thoms, the movement can be attributed to Charles Hector Golay, trading as Hector Golay, 46 Myddleton Square, London, a Swiss born watchmaker who worked most of his life in London. Golay was the main manufacturer, along with Nicole, Nielsen & Co., of the best English made complicated watch movements at the end of the 19th/beginning of the 20th century. Golay regularly commissioned Frederick or Fred Thoms with the supply of the cases, often fitted with the 'thief-proof' swivel bow.
