The case of the present watch is a fine and very attractive example for the delicate filigree or openwork decoration, particularly popular in in the early 17th century. Its appeal is furthermore enhanced by the diamond and enamel floral ornament in high relief, also characteristically for the period.

The movement, dial and pendant have been replaced in the mid-18th century, a typical feature often found in early watches.
