專家說明

In the year 1808 Amsterdam's Town Hall was reassigned to Louis Bonaparte by his brother Napoleon to use as his royal palace. The interior was adjusted and a balcony was added to the facade. However, adjustments to the building self weren't enough, Louis also liked a view over the water of the nearby Damrak. Therefore, Louis had the old Weighing House from 1565 torn down despite its old age and history as soldiers quarter and execution place. The engraving in this goblet shows the old situation with the original Town Hall and old Weighing House.
