專家說明

Viva, Mrs Norman Holbrook (d. 1952), was the daughter of Frederick Woodin. In 1919 she married Commander Norman Holbrook, V.C. (1888-1976), one of six brothers known during the First World War as 'The Fighting Holbrooks'. He was the first submariner to be awarded the Victoria Cross for his command of his submarine B11 through the treacherous Dardanelle Straits, under five rows of mines to sink the Turkish Battleship Mesudiye. In his honour, in 1915, the Australian town of Germanton was patriotically renamed Holbrook.
