With presentation case, outer packaging, certificate and product literature.
Reference 5396 was introduced to the market in 2006 and pays tribute to the firm's celebrated Calatrava model, launched in the 1930s. The smooth white gold case is of the distinctive, classic round Calatrava style of reference 96 and stands out by its large size. The appealing graphic design of the dial is inspired from a late 1930s historical "Calatrava" wristwatch, on permanent exhibition at Patek Philippe's prestigious museum in Geneva. With its double railway track scale this well-proportioned two-tone silvered dial adds a subtle technical flourish to reference 5396 which furthermore differs from the other annual calendar models by its striking new design: for the first time, this patented mechanism features twin in-line day and month apertures beneath 12 o'clock. With its modern yet ageless design, reference 5396 immediately became a classic amongst collectors.
