A patriotic outburst, beginning with an evocation of a fleet on the eve of battle, and incorporating as the 'modern watchwords' names (including 'Talienman' and 'Sokotoo') evocative of the British imperial enterprise. Churchill did not habitually compose verse, and no comparable manuscript is recorded as appearing at auction (ABPC-online).
