Of architectural form, the clock circular with white enamel dial and black Arabic chapters, within a chased berried laurel below a ribbon-twist and flanked by two leaf-wrapped pinecones, set on a semi-circular base supported by three columns with laurel-chased capitals enclosing the standing figure of a Life Guard Dragoon with a plumed shako and sabre, on semi-circular rouge griotte marble plinth set with silver presentation plaque inscribed in Russian 'To Dear Prince Nikolai Valerievich Urusov Comrades from the Life Guard Dragoons 7th August 1879 - 1st July 1907', the back of the clock engraved with subscribers' names, marked on columns and bases
