With the Chelsea Flower Show approaching and summer on your doorstep, now is the perfect time to start thinking about your outside space, be it a quintessential English cottage garden, a rooftop terrace or a formal landscaped garden. The addition of a piece of ornament, statuary or furniture adds structure and creates a focal point in all types of spaces. The sculptural items presented in this sale such as the life-size Shepherd Boy attributable to one of England's largest producers of stoneware Austin & Seeley and the magnificent pair of cast-iron recumbent hounds cast by Val d'Osne after a model by Andre Jacquemart would make a striking statement in any exterior setting. Take a pew on these wonderfully weathered benches (lot 2) or the pair of Regency style seats (lot 15) and sit back and enjoy your garden this summer.
