The openwork backplate with multicolored champlevé enamel, the center mounted with a high collet-set red gemstone surrounded by radiating gold flower heads, six baroque pearls, and two garnets, all set against later gold flowerheads, the reverse intricately enameled in blue, green and white cloisonné enamel, three pendant pearls below, apparently unmarked
