With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present octagonal watch with enamel and paintings in two tones, 2 brilliant-cut and 64 rose-cut diamonds on platinum and enamelled yellow gold expandable bracelet in 1912 and its subsequent sale on 30 May 1913.
This unusual lady's wristwatch has never been offered at auction before. It formerly belonged to the Russian great grandmother of the present owner who according to family tradition had received it as a token of esteem from an admirer in 1914. It is a very fine example of one of Patek Philippe's exquisite Art Deco wristwatches, often made to special order.
