With two separate receptacles hewn from adjacent sections of the same tree, each with its own lid set into rebates, iron-bound and with lifting handles, nine locks, one double, previously with an iron strap concealing the join,
23½ in. (60 cm.) high; 81½ in. (207 cm.) wide; 25 in. (64 cm.) deep

Wolverley Church, Wolverley, Worcestershire. The whole chest was set into the stonework of the church which accounts for the extent of the rot at the back lower edge
