THREE AVRO SHACKLETON PROPELLERS
拍品 319 Aerodynamic Design

Iconic aircraft are represented here by elements now transformed into modern practical focal points. The simple clean lines of these three propeller blades form a sculptural centrepiece for an interior setting. These are from an Avro Shackleton aircraft produced by the De Havilland firm; the original hub had six propellers, three front and three just behind which contra-rotate, these three are the front set, the power was provided by a Rolls Royce Griffon engine. The low table is modelled about a turbine engine fan of the type used to power the Avro Vulcan.
