A LEEDS PEARLWARE MODEL OF A STALLION
CIRCA 1810
The startled animal sponged in black, standing on a rectangular base, the top green, the sides molded and enriched in cobalt as a wreath

With Leo Kaplan Ltd., New York, 1986.

專家說明

The present model is a rare smaller version of the stallion produced at Leeds between 1800 and 1820, reputedly for use in the window displays of equestrian suppliers. Carefully balancing the large animal on four thin ankles and hooves during the firing is technically remarkable.
